Job description
As a professional researcher you will develop innovative solutions in European collaborative projects, and bring innovation to practice through implementation of research results in demonstration and consultancy projects. The main research topic at DEMO is ICT for the built environment. The knowledge is applied for asset management of buildings and infrastructure, energy-efficient buildings and sustainable cultural heritage.
Right from the start you will actively participate in European and national research projects within the EU Horizon 2020 and NL TKI programmes, both in project execution as well as in research proposal writing. Next to research activities, you will contribute to consultancy projects on software development and implementation.
Qualification requirements

Middle-stage researcher with an MSc or a PhD degree related to ICT for the built environment.

Technical knowledge and research interest in BIM, Internet of Things, Big Data Analytics, Building Automation and Control Systems.

Understanding of software development projects.

Several years of experience in applied / industrial research assignments on top of master or doctoral research.

Proven ambition for fast-track research and consultancy; interest of working in a multinational and multidisciplinary team and a dynamic project environment.

Result-oriented working attitude and awareness of business opportunities resulted from research.

Effective communicator with an ability to write research reports, give presentations, and lead technical discussions in both English and Dutch.

DEMO’s core business comprises software development and implementation, strategic and technical consultancy, and applied research. DEMO’s self-developed IFD Office is located at Delftechpark in Delft between other high-tech offices and in the vicinity of the Delft University of Technology and TNO campus.
